Mimosa Feminized

This vibrant sativa-dominant hybrid is well known for its explosive citrus terpene profile. With its uplifting and clearheaded effects, it quickly gained popularity among growers and consumers. Mimosa does not only stand out for its exceptional flavor profile. It is also a very versatile and reliable strain for indoor and outdoor grows, with the potential for high yields.

Growing

Mimosa is a strong sativa-dominant hybrid well known for her stretching capabilities. She will do everything she can for survival. You will notice that from the moment you plant her, she will start establishing her vigorous root system to rapidly grow with long and flexible branches. During the vegetative stage, she will develop strong branches that are decently apart from each other, which can help in later stages with airflow.

Indoor
We recommend flipping her to the flowering stage a bit earlier than usual. This is because she will stretch noticeably once the flowering begins. She can double her height from before the flowering stage. We highly recommend planning out your headroom, especially if you have limited space. She can thrive in both warm and colder climates, but she performs the best around 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. Don't feed her excessively; keep everything reasonably balanced, and she will show you her expressive terpenes and intense aromas.

Outdoors
Like most strains, Mimosa truly thrives when given ample space for its roots to spread. With direct sunlight in a warm and dry environment, she will grow tall and wide. She performs exceptionally well in longer summers with little rainfall. She has dense buds covered in resin, so it's important to keep humidity low. Sometimes it's hard to control the humidity; you can help the plant by pruning some of its dense foliage to allow for better airflow.

Fungal resistance

Mimosa has average resistance to fungal issues. The structure of her buds increases the risk of mold forming. The risk is even higher in the late flowering stage, where the buds are dense and resinous. Controlling this indoors is manageable with good airflow and humidity control. When growing outdoors, it's a bit trickier, and some strategic pruning might be necessary when the humidity is high. Essentially, leave enough space around the buds for airflow and some sun penetration to avoid moisture from being trapped within the buds.

Flowering time

Indoor
Mimosa flowers in 9 to 10 weeks. Depending on your environment and grow setup, it can finish slightly earlier than usual. But leaving it longer in the flowering stage is not necessarily bad for this strain. It allows her to mature even more and bring out her signature citrus-like terpene profile.

Outdoor
When growing her outdoors, you can expect to be able to harvest around mid- to late October. Cooler night temperatures towards the end of the season can help her intensify aromas and resin production. But keep in mind that you want to avoid rain to prevent too much moisture from being trapped inside the buds.

Yield

Indoor
You can achieve some fairly decent yields with the Mimosa when grown in the right conditions. Applying techniques to control its stretch can improve the light exposure to maximize her yield. With that extra bit of love, she can net you 550gm/2 indoors of high-quality citrusy buds.

Outdoor
Growing outdoors can increase her yield per plant potential significantly in the right environment. Like all plants, the Mimosa can benefit from unrestricted space and natural sunlight. With long sunny seasons, she will produce large spear-like buds and can rewards you with 600+ grams per plant.

Plant height & structure

Mimosa grows like many sativa-dominant strains with a tall stature and loves to stretch vertically. Her branches are strong, which is great for supporting her heavy and dense buds. But even then, during the late flowering stage, it may still be necessary to give her flowers a little bit of support. In perfect conditions, the buds grow so large that they start to risk snapping the branches. The plant grows naturally into a shape that's reminiscent of a Christmas tree, which is fitting because she will bring you early Christmas presents!

Training

Mimosa is highly receptive to training, and she benefits greatly from it. Techniques like LST or SCROG can help her control her stretching capabilities and create an even canopy. Because of her natural vigor, she recovers very quickly from topping and will respond with explosive growth. We strongly recommend applying some form of training for indoor growers with limited space.

Smell, taste and effects

The Mimosa is famous for her citrus-like aroma. She is often compared to freshly peeled oranges or tangerines. You can expect a distinct sweetness and tropical undertones with light hints of earthy notes. This zesty strain has very fast-acting and uplifting effects.
It starts with a clear cerebral rush that boosts mood and can help with focus. It leaves you in a state where you are sociable with gentle body-relaxing effects. It doesn't really have sedating effects, making it ideal for daytime use, and she is great for hanging out with the boys!
