What are autoflowering seeds?
Autoflowering seeds are seeds that will grow into a plant that flowers automatically. This is convenient because you don't have to change the light cycle. With normal (photoperiod) plants, you have to switch the light cycle to 12 hours of darkness and 12 hours of light to begin the flowering phase. Autoflowers will transition into the flowering phase based on their age.

Why grow autoflowering plants?
If you are looking for easier to grow plants, autoflowers are perfect because you don't have to switch light cycles yourself to start the flowering phase. The turnaround is also quite a bit faster than their photoperiod counterparts. They do tend to be smaller, but this can be a benefit if you have a smaller grow space. Of course the compact plant will yield a bit less, but the buds will be just as resin rich with the same potency.
Occasionally, you still come across growers who don't like autoflowers because of their low potency. But that's long in the past. Modernized breeding techniques have allowed autoflowering strains to be just as potent as photoperiod strains. The decision between photoperiod or autoflower usually comes down to how important yield vs. time is. If you want a quicker turnaround and the amount of yield is less of a problem, then autoflower is your go-to.
How are autoflower seeds created?
The autoflowering trait originally comes from cannabis ruderalis. Which is a cannabis subspecies that can be found in nature. It's a species that evolved in harsh northern climates where summers are short. These plants adapted to their habitat and developed a trait that let them flower automatically to ensure their reproduction before the harsh winter falls.

By crossing photoperiod strains with the ruderalis, we can carry the autoflowering trait over to the photoperiod strain. This might sound easy, but in practice it takes a lot of time to keep the potency, flavor, and, most importantly, the stability the same as the photoperiod counterpart. With selective breeding, we make sure the offspring will keep its autoflowering trait but lose some of its ruderal influence. Over time, the ruderalis influence will be minimized, leaving only the autoflowering trait with the original photoperiod traits. Results? A stable autoflowering strain with the same potency and flavors as the photoperiod counterpart.
Are autoflower seeds natural?
Yes, autoflowering seeds are 100% natural. These seeds are bred with traditional breeding techniques. In the same way, farmers have bred crops for centuries! No genetic modifications were involved. Only selections of the most potent and stable crossings have been applied.

Should I pick autoflowering seeds?
You should definitely pick autoflowering seeds if you value speed and ease over quantity. Its practicality makes it a popular choice among beginner growers. But even experienced growers can find value in autoflowers, for example, growing them in between photoperiod grows or during low season.
Easier to grow
Growing autoflowers is much like growing photoperiods, but you don't have to worry about light cycles. Just plant it and let it do its thing and watch it grow into a beautiful plant.
Quicker turnaround
Most autoflowers are ready in 2 to 3 months, allowing you to have multiple harvests per year. This is also useful to beginners, because you can learn and experiment much more in a year with different strains.
Compact size
The size of autoflowers is often smaller, which makes them perfect for grow tents or a small, discreet grow on balconies and terraces.
Very flexible during
Autoflowers will grow and flower with 18/6, 20/4, and even 24 hours of light. They don't depend on darkness to flower; this gives you a lot of flexibility and makes it even possible to grow them alongside your photoperiod strains.
Ideal for outdoor grows
The flexibility with light makes the autoflower unaffected by seasonal daylight changes. This makes it perfect for outdoor growing in conditions with unpredictable daylight.

More interested in higher yields?
Our feminized (photoperiod) seeds can grow into larger plants with more yields. Especially if you have some experience with growing. You can control the timing of flowering yourself; this makes it possible to leave your plant in the vegetative stage for a longer period, allowing your plant to grow into a larger plant that can plant even heavier harvests. With a bit of love and care, these ladies will deliver you their maximum yield potential.
