About the Gelato Feminized
Another world-class Cookie hybrid that is unbelievably potent. Gelato seeds are recommended to real connoisseurs, commercial growers and those searching for the latest and greatest to come out of California! You will quickly see why this strain became a house-hold favorite and a must-have for all coffee shops, social clubs, and dispensaries.
Gelato Feminized is a THC powerhouse from the Bay Area that has taken the world by storm. A heavy-handed, euphoric effect that is best for those with a high tolerance. Earthy, peppery, and citrus cookie dough terpenes with a short flowering time make this easy to grow strain highly sought after. A wise choice for beginner growers and experts who want the best the US has to offer.
Growing
She is a member of the Cookie family and was created by crossing Sunset Sherbet with Thin Mint GSC. The results were a strain perfectly suited for beginner growers that will flower with purple and green hues. The flavor and terpene profiles have been enhanced, making Gelato Feminized one of the best tasting strains on the market, with a THC level testing above 20%.
Indoor
Gelato will grow to a medium height and finish around 120-150 cm (47-60 inches) indoors. We advise plant training to maximize yields when growing this lady. The terpene profile is very pungent, however has an earthy, spicy, sweet cookie dough with strong citrus overtones. An easy to trim strain, that will reward every grower with bags of top quality sugar trim, that can be used to make water hash, dry sift or for extraction.
Outdoor
Outdoors, Gelato can grow huge and will require some support once flowering begins. Thanks to her study and resilient characteristics, she is an excellent candidate for hot and colder climates. She also produces exceptional results when grown in a SOG using smaller-sized pots. The best time to plant outdoors from seed is the end of April and to harvest at the end of October.
Fungal resistance
Gelato is a resilient strain that can take the cold weather and heat stress well. The buds can become very chunky and dense during the final 3 weeks of flowering, so we recommend that you keep an eye out for mold and ensure there is plenty of fresh air around the plants at all times.
Flowering time
Indoor
Flowering time will take 8-10 weeks, making her a fast flowering hybrid, perfect for commercial growers, as well as beginner growers. Once flowering, her pistils will develop into a bright orange color, as they surround the glistening, resin-soaked buds that begin to develop a purple and magenta hue.
A truly majestic plant that reveals her beauty the more she flowers. Phenotype hunting through a pack of Gelato Feminized will result in some incredible plants, with some finishing around 56 days.
Outdoor
You can expect to harvest from mid-October, as Gelato will require a full 10 weeks to really mature with rock-hard buds. Some plants can finish faster than others depending on pot size, climate, and nutrients.
Yield
Indoor
Gelato Feminized does not require much maintenance and can produce up to 550 g/m² (1.8 oz per square foot) in a Sea of Green. With training and a longer vegetative period, it is possible to harvest up to 650 g/m² (2.1 oz per square foot).
Outdoor
Outdoors, Gelato can produce up to 1000 grams (35.5 oz) per plant when grown from Spring until late October.
Plant height & structure
She will remain a medium height and grow with short internodal spacing, that later becomes stacked with golf ball sized buds. There will be one main, taller central bud, that is surrounded with short and fat side branches. We recommend applying training and do keep in the vegetative stage for longer, to get the biggest plants possible.
Training
Gelato reacts very well to being tied down, allowing more light to enter the canopy. We also recommend pruning the lower foliage off the plants, one week before flowering, to grow the biggest buds and focus on the top canopy.
Smell, taste and effect
This cultivar is best suited for smokers with a high tolerance, as her powerful effects can sometimes be too much for some. The physical effects are overwhelmingly strong with a narcotic edge that can put you into a heavy dreamy state. Those with a higher tolerance will be able to enjoy her physical effects mixed in with a creative, and focused mind set.
When smoking a joint of Gelato Feminized, you will experience a complex mouthwash of sweet, spicy, citrus, and earthy. Your lips and entire palette will become coated with a creamy, smooth, complex blend of flavors that everyone has been going wild for.
